Blizzard teases that future new Overwatch 2 heroes may be faces we’re familiar with from the game’s lore before. The Overwatch 2 team revealed more details about the next heroes that will be included in the sequel game, revealing that some of them may be recognisable to us because they have already appeared in the comics and lore.
This gives Overwatch 2 fans a lot of clues about the new heroes and opens the door to creative theories. This means that there is a high chance that heroes such as D.Mon, Mauga, Maximilien will be added to the game with new patches. Besides, there are heroes and omnics whose faces you see a lot in lore but whose names you don’t know yet.
Alec Dawson, the lead hero designer for Overwatch 2, hinted during a Q&A session with Twitch streamers Christal Raine and Bro You Wack that the new Overwatch 2 heroes might be the faces we already know. Considering that Ramattra also has a connection to Doomfist and even appears in an old Overwatch cinematic, this is most likely to happen.
Fans thought that a Talon Tank hero named Mauga would be released instead of Ramattra, but they went the wrong way. We don’t think Mauga will be released anytime soon because we already knew that the new hero would be a Support with different mechanics.

The New Overwatch 2 Heroes is a Support!
We already knew that Overwatch 2 will now release a new hero every 2 seasons and they will be Tank and Support heroes only. Due to the fact that the number of DPS heroes in the game is higher than the others, Tank and Support heroes were released in order to balance the game. It has been stated that we will also see mechanics and skills that we have never seen before in upcoming heroes.
